Musical Director - Mark Dale 

Mark was drawn to music at an early age through an elder cousin who was studying piano at the time.  He commenced his studies of piano as an undergraduate at the Birmingham Conservatoire under the tuition of Mark Racz where he won the highly acclaimed 'John Clinton Award' for piano accompaniment. He studied for a further year under Stuart Smith during which time he assisted many well known singing teachers including Pamela Cook and Howard Milner. He later went on to study as a music lecturer at Keele University. In his busy schedule Mark is currently in his third year at Keele University training to become an Osteopath; working as a Primary School Supply Teacher; coaching piano and voice nationwide and last but not least as the Musical Director of the City of Stoke-on-Trent Male Voice Choir.    

 Accompanist - Jill Evans

Jill comes from a musical family.  At the age of sixteen, she became an 'Associate of the London College of Music' and also broadcast her own piano composion on the B.B.C. Radio programme - 'Midland Magazine'  On leaving Thistley Hough School for Girls, Jill studied at the 'Manchester College of Music' where she graduated in 1958.  She returned to the college to teach keyboard harmony and composition in the Junior department.  She has since spent many years teaching music and general subjects in Primary and Secondary schools.  A few years ago, she took part in a programme on B.B.C. Radio Stoke - talking about, and performing her own piano composition.  Jill has played for many local organisations, including the scout movement, helping with their 'Screamline' rehearsals.  She is also a member of the North Staffs Organ Society.  She was for a number of years Organist at 'Drake Hall Open Prison.  She is currently organist at 'All Saints Church' - Hanley and also plays the organ at Stoke Minster.  For the last ten years, Jill has been a judge for the 'Best kept Village' competition.

 

 

Assistant Accompanist - Barbara Thomas 

Barbara first became interested in music at the age of seven when her family acquired a piano.  She first heard the sound's of the organ at her local Methodist Church where her family were members, fascinated with the instrument she realised she had to learn to play one.  At the age of eleven she started playing the organ for the Sunday School, and at the age of fourteen she accepted the position of organist at Blythe Bridge Methodist Church.  For many years Barbara has enjoyed being an accompanist on both piano and organ, for many choirs and soloist's, in many churches in the potteries.  At present she is leader and accompanist to the Blythe Bridge Singers, assistant and organist to the City of Stoke-on-Trent Male Voice Choir, Musical Director to the Stoke-on-Trent Methodist Singers and is at present organist/choirmistress at the local Central Hall.
